Each chair is handmade in the traditional Mexican diamond weave pattern. This design provides you with total body support as your weight is evenly distributed across the whole hammock creating a lovely 'weightless' type feeling.

Mexican hammock weave is a much closer weave style compared to other 'rope' style hammocks meaning greater support, reduced pressure points and no rope strands uncomfortably digging into your body. 

The hanging chair is supported by a solid wood spreader bar (included) and attached rope which ends in a single loop. From which you can easily hang via rope from tree branches or a hook from ceilings and overhead beams.

All our hammocks are 100% handmade by expert artisan hammock weavers in Mayan villages throughout the Yucatán, Mexico. Through hammock weaving, sustainable employment opportunities are created, whilst helping to keep alive the local Mayan community traditions.

Each hammock purchase helps contribute to growing 'Fundacion Cielo' a registered non-profit organisation working within these communities where there is often economic disparity and lack of employment opportunities to help drive social change, through alleviating poverty, improving health, education and gender equality.

Material

100% Polyester. Made from thick and durable polyester cord to create a more durable weather-resistant outdoor hammock.

Polyester is a well-regarded material often used in the marine industry offering greater durability for constant outdoor exposure. It will not rot, is resistant to mildew and is quicker drying than cotton cord.

We use a soft supportive polyester cord that has a similar feel and comfort level to regular cotton hammocks.

Handwoven like all our hammocks the Mexican weave provides a soft supportive feel as it stretches and shapes to your body shape.

Colour Info

Black polyester cord. 

Black colour hammocks, in general, can be more prone to fading. By reducing prolonged exposure to sunlight this can help keep your hammock looking good for longer.
